Ayal is a Managing General Partner at Pitango .

Prior to being appointed Managing General Partner in November 2018, Ayal spent 3 years as a Venture Partner at Pitango.

Prior to Pitango, Ayal was the founder and CEO of Convergin, a Pitango portfolio company, that was acquired by Oracle (NASDAQ: ORCL) in 2010. Following the acquisition, Convergin has become part of Oracle's development centers in Israel, and Ayal was appointed Vice President in the comapny.

Ayal earned his PhD in Computer Science from the Technion before the age of 25, he then became a faculty member at New York University working on breakthrough technologies in the areas of Cloud Computing. 


He was one of the first developers in Microsoft’s first R&D center outside of the US.

In the academia - his applied research work was published and extensively cited in prominent journals, and being used by large corporations.

Along with his involvement in entrepreneurship and investments Ayal serves on various boards and advisory boards which include the Technion’s Computer Science Department Industry Advisory Board, and SpaceIL. Until recently Ayal served on the board of directors of Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI).
