While NJNG offers customers several ways to pay their bill, up until now mobile was not one of them. Recognizing the rapid consumer adoption of smartphones, NJNG wanted to get ahead of the game and bring mobile payment capability to its half million customers in the five New Jersey counties it serves.
"Our customers are more mobile-enabled than ever before," said Kathleen Kerr, vice president of customer services, New Jersey Natural Gas. "In fact, many of them already use Check's app, which provides increased functionality. So it is a natural next step for us to team with Check. This helps us deliver a mobile payment option and continue the transition to a paperless environment."
"We're thrilled to partner with New Jersey Natural Gas, a top East Coast utility company with half a million customers," said Steve Schultz, COO, Check. "It's a great example of a utility who sees the immense impact mobile is having on customers today."
With Check, customers can pay any bill (including their NJNG bill), anytime, anywhere using a wide variety of payment methods. To get started, customers can visit Google Play or the iTunes App Store to download the Check app for free.
