SCOPUS NETWORK TECHNOLOGIES SHOWS HIGH DEFINITION OFFERINGS AT NAB 04

Scopus Network Technologies (www.scopus.net),
a leading supplier of digital compression technology to the broadcasting industry, announced today that it will be showing its CODICO product line that are fully compatible with current HDTV standards at the NAB 2004 Show, booth SU 11814. All of Scopus’ newer generation products and platforms fulfill high definition requirments including its industry leading system concept IVN™ (Intelligent Video Network), and the full suite of IVG (Intelligent Video Gateway) platforms, IRDs and encoders .

Scopus’ comprehensive platforms for satellite, cable and telco operators offer HD at every stage of the transmission and compression process. From the recieving node to the head-end and to the uplink, Scopus enables broadcasters and operators to fulfill the promise and regulations of high definition TV direct into the home.

The CODICO® E-1800 HD encoder provides multi-format 1080i, 720p and 480p support with 4:2:2/4:2:0 encoding profiles up to 45Mbps. The E-1800 also performs EIA 708 VANC close caption, audio multiplexing in accordance with MPEG-II and Dolby Digital (AC-3) standards. Furthermore, the unit supports Dolby E coding pass-through, inverse telecine mode and is ATSC and DVB complaint.

The professional receiver CODICO® IRD-2450 is 1RU rack mounted unit featuring MPEG-2 MP@HL decoding, Dolby AC-3 and MPEG-2 audio decoding, digital video signal compliant with SMPTE 292M (HDSDI), OSD display with PSI and EPG information, PSIP/EIA-608 close caption compliant, and more.
